WEEK 25 OF WONDERS IN THE SUPERLEAGUE

TNM SUPER LEAGUE UPDATES | NEWS

By Bright Mfune.

Whoever coined the statement, “impossible is nothing” might have envisioned Week number 25 of the 2017 TNM Super league footballing season whereby there were some wonders.

So eye-raising were they that Monday coaches have already started scribbling some eulogies; both positive, and negative to various teams in the league.

What has happened this footballing week has just added spice to the footballing cake as the old adage that soccer is unpredictable was also evident here. The major culprit of course, being none other than Silver Strikers, who, before this week, were yet to test the jaws of defeat.

Here’s the cake that was Week Number 25 in our esteemed league.

Saturday

Chitipa United 0-0 Mighty Be Forward Wanderers

The maiden showdown at the newly opened Karonga Stadium between the bottom, and the top sides produced a nil-nil stalemate. It was a match that was hot-tempered as silly claims of Jujus continued taking centre stage.

But by the end of 90 minutes, no team could find the back of the net. Zero-zero was the result.

The result means the host are still locked at the bottom of the table with 13 points from 23matches so far.

Blantyre United 1- 1 Silver Strikers

As the Karonga juju-clouded affair was being settled up north, down south there was also another interesting score to be settled.

Second from bottom Blantyre United was squaring off with the-then second placed Silver Strikers.

Cometh 90 minutes, it was another stalemate; 1- all.

Azam Tigers 0-1 Blue Eagles

The police-sponsored Blue Eagles started their away menu on a good note after seeing off unpredictable Azam Tigers by a lone goal to nil.

SUNDAY

Dwangwa United 0 – 2 Master’s Security FC

Rejuvenated Dwangwa United could not replicate its recent form as it bowed down to the visiting Master’s Security FC by 2 goals to nothing.

Red Lions 1- 0 Silver Strikers

The most shocking of them all. Out-of-steam Red Lions produced a scare by becoming the first team to collect maximum points at the hands of Silver Strikers to complete a miserable week for the Central bankers.

Nyasa Big Bullets 2-0 Blue Eagles

Events during this weekend turned from bad to worse for the Central Bankers as their closest chasing pack, NBB’s 2 nil win against Blue Eagles means the Red Army has now replaced the former on the second position.

Moyale Barracks FC 1- 3 Mighty Be Forward Wanderers

The Nomads had successful away exploits as it collected four points from a possible six. This was confirmed on Sunday after reducing Moyale Barracks FC to a side-show via a three goal to one margin.

Such a successful trip up north will surely boost their morale as they will be taking on their arch rival, and now second placed Nyasa Big Bullets on the 28th of October 2017.

Mafco FC 2– 1 Mzuni Fc

Mzuni fc continues producing mixed results whenever it travelled as on Sunday, it also succumbed to defeat at the hands of the Salima-based soldiers, Mafco FC. The hosts triumphed by 2 goals to 1.

…………………………………………….

That has been the mixed bag in the week just ending, 2017 TNM Super League Week number 25.

In just ended weekend, 19 goals have been scored from 10 games; taking the tally score for the 2017 Season to 394 in 180 matches played.
