A total of fifteen players have been offloaded from Nyasa Big Bullets, and Police sponsored team, Blue Eagle Fc as part of their 2018 TNM Super League rebuilding exercise, Entertainment Malawi can reveal.

According to the information EM sports desk has, Nyasa Big Bullets FC has released nine players from the squad while Blue Eagles fc has dumped six.

The information shows Nyasa Big Bullets red-carding Bernard Chimaimba, veteran center back, George Luiz Nyirenda, Cuthbert Sinetah, Silva Chawe, Veteran Jimmy Zakazaka, Ian Chinyama, Anzeru Joseph, and Andy Kamlete.

Former Karonga United player, Maneno Nyoni has been loaned to new TNM Super league entrants, Nchalo United.

In Blue Eagles camp, Luke Milanzi, Davie Ng’ambi, and Tizgowere Kumwenda have seen off their contracts whilst Carlington Misomali, Blessings Phiri, and Geo Banda will be loaned to teams of their choice.

Commenting on the development, local soccer analyst, Andrew Chilapondwa expressed mixed reactions by the decisions the two teams have taken.

“Some of the offloaded players had little impact in the 2017 soccer season.  For example, Bernard Chimaimba, Jimmy Zakazaka, Anzeru Joseph and Kamlete did not play more than three games, so it was high time they left,” he said.

Chilapondwa however said he has been shocked by the departure of veteran center back, George Nyirenda.

“I don’t see any reason for releasing this player. Though I heard he was wanting, discipline-wise, but this is a brilliant player for any team.” He said.

As for the Area 30 side, Chilapondwa feels Geo Banda could have been kept in the squad.

“Geo Banda played very well; I don’t see any proper reason releasing this player. But talk of Luke Milanzi, Davie Ng’ambi and Tizgowere Kumwenda I can agree on that.” He said.

Currently, Nyasa Big Bullets FC has signed Fletcher Bandawe, Patrick Phiri, Peter Banda, and Righteous Banda, whilst 2017 TNM Super League defender of the season, Emmanuel Zoya is to start a new lease of life with Zambian side, Red Arrows, and striker, Muhammad Sulumba signed for South Africa’s Polokwane City.

Blue Eagles, on the other hand, will miss the legs of Mphatso Phillimoni, who has join city rivals, Silver Strikers.
