The newly launched Zathu Pa Wailesi radio programme’s Season 5 which went on air on the 22^nd of July 2019 has come with it, as expected, a number of scintillating spices that will make it, a must listen show in the country.

The show, coming from the background of other equally successful info-tainment laden messages in its previous four seasons, has some new recipes to keep a Malawian youth glued to their radios.

Zathu pa Wailesi unpacked the glitterings that are going to characterize the journey into the show’s season 5, at a series of press briefings a couple of days ago.

Among others, Malawian youths have been introduced to a new character in the (Zathu Pa Wailesi) play, George also known as Jijo.

Jijo is one familiar kid in the play; a familiar Malawian youngster who is not only mischievous but is also carefree; a result of which, keeps his name amongst the list of usual suspects whenever something goes astray.

In the play, George is a 17 year old Form 4 student at Mamzoli Secondary School. Minus being mischievous, the youngster is also famed for his jokes. According to him, he is okay with being a bad boy in town and does not care the consequences of his actions towards his friends.

“I do whatever it takes to earn a living” Jijo explains.

Such a unique character of Jijo makes Zathu PaWailesi Season 5 a must listen to radio show as the character is never short of surprises. According to Zilani Gondwe, Zathu’s Senior Manager for Partnerships Communications and Fan Mobilization, Jijo’s character is going to bring a lot of drama to the radio programme (play).

“Jijo the new character is a different kind of a boy, he is naughty and roguish. He’s not good at proper decision making. To him, only him counts,” She reveals.

Minus the troublesome new kid on the block, Zathu Pawailesi has also stored a litany of prizes to some lucky listeners who will be loyal to the programme.

According to one half of the show’s presenters, DJ Goxy, the prizes will be awarded to loyal listeners who are going to follow the show till the twilight of the season.

“Listeners stand a chance to win many great prizes and one huge grand prize including Zathu band live at any school or community ground in the country,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, the competition is set to kick off this Monday, the 29^th of July 2019, and another one during the monthends of August, up to October. 30 winners will enter a monthly draw with winners smiling home with their prizes every month end.

That is not all, mesmerizing Zathu Pawailesi DJs will be trotting countrywide hunting for young talents and also staging various shows.  

“Our Djs are planning to go as far as Karonga, and Sanje in a search of amazing youngsters and exciting events,” said Goxy.

Zathu PaWailesi listeners can participate in the quiz by listening to the show and submit their answers via their respective brand ambassadors, clubs and schools.

This year, Zathu Pawailesi shows will be broadcast on three radio stations namely Malawi Broadcasting Cooperation (MBC), Tuntufye, and Nyathepa.
