A thick cloud of uncertainty surrounds the launch of the much awaited Sweet Banana song by Malawi’s celebrated Afro-pop song wizard, Dan Lu.

The show, slated for 6th November 2016 at Lilongwe Golf Club is supposed to attract music heavyweight in the likes of KCEE of the Limpopo fame, Zambia’s Organized Family, and Piksy among others is facing a legal battle from Dan Lu’s manager (former), Sisco Chris of Sisco Productions from Nigeria.

According to Sisco, his company has sought an injunction restraining Dan Lu from conducting any music related activities in Malawi until they resolve their issues.

Sisco told one of the local TV stations that Dan Lu has been constantly flouting the conditions of service of the company.

“Dan Lu has been holding shows on his own without the knowledge of the company…he’s an embarrassment not only to Malawi but the whole music world in general,” fumed Sisco.

As we went to press, Dan Lu was yet to respond to our questionnaire.

But in a separate video clip which has reached ENTERTAINMENTMALAWI’s desk, the show’s guest artist, KCEE insists the show is on despite whatever dust might have been circulating across the country’s media.

“I’m coming to party with my friend, you know him, Dan Lu. Don’t mind whatever you might have been saying. The show is on, on the 6th of November, 2016,” says KCEE.
