Max Lachnichit, an ex-official of German’s lower league side FC EPE 1912 on Friday donated sports attire to a Mzuzu-based youth organization, Pace for Social Change.

In an interview with EM,  Max felt proud to introduce  his former club to Malawi through a youth  organization like Pace for social Change as a way  of connecting the two parties.

“I’m proud to show to the nation, Malawi and the whole world my local football club, and the jersey will ensure unity to my club  and Pace for Social Change ” said Max.  

He also added that he wants the organization to be successful in netball and football saying that the country (Malawi ) shows a promising attitude in the mentioned  sport disciplines.

“Close to half a year, football and netball are really popular in Malawi. I want Pace to be successful in Netball and football. These are things that they were lacking as an organization  and I’m happy to give a hand to them,”  said Max.

On his part, Gibson Chisale Director of the organization   expressed his gratitude for the donations, saying the kit will indeed help his organization to attain its goals.

“I’m very happy to receive the sporting equipment; these kits are not easily found in Malawi , but  I thank Max for saving Pace for Social  Change  organization,” said Chisale.

On her part, one of the group members  and a netballer,  Margret Maseya  expressed optimism  for their youth team to excel in sports  since the coming of the kits have boosted their enthusiasm for the games that they play.

“We’re hopeful of good results as the donations are a morale boost for us,” said Maseya.

Pace For social Change holds a mission of creating lifetime opportunities for young people through capacity building, participation, research and networking.
