George Kalukusha is set to make a significant mark on the music scene with the upcoming release of his debut album, “We Never Stood A Chance,” scheduled to drop later this year. Following the success of his three EPs—Growing Pains (2016), Hourglass (2017), and Millennial Vanity (2019)—Kalukusha has spent the past few years honing his craft in the studio, collaborating with notable musicians including Mr Eazi and Sauti Sol.

In anticipation of the album’s launch, George is treating his fans to the release of a new single titled “I’ve Got That Feeling (Mbwe Mbwe).” The single, accompanied by visuals directed by the award-winning VJ Ice, is set to be released on Thursday, 20th June 2019.

Born in 1993 in Lilongwe, Malawi, Kalukusha is known for his earnest approach to songwriting, blending elements of soul and folk music. Initially inspired by the simplicity of the guitar, he soon discovered that his inner voice needed to be shared with the world. His dedication and unique sound have not only won him fans but also caught the attention of industry heavyweights.

Recently, George was recognized as one of the top 100 upcoming artists across Africa through the Empawa Africa initiative—a project by Mr Eazi designed to nurture the continent’s next generation of superstars. Among the select top 10 participants, he had the opportunity to work alongside global talents such as Diplo, Raye, Shekhinah, Kwesta, and DJ Maphorisa.
