It’s now official. Karonga United, TN Stars, and Nchalo United are the new recruits into our elite league. On behalf of fellow members From the Terraces, we sincerely welcome you.

However, we do not need to remind you that TNM super league does not need the fainthearted. There are survival tactics that you need to follow if you are to stay longer in this flagship. So, without much ado, allow Yours Truly to share some tips.

  1. Get busy on the market; recruit the cream

Hire the best in both the technical and the grounds men, the players. Over relying on the crop that assisted you to get a super league berth will be suicide in waiting. You need to marry the experienced (those who know what it means to be in the super league) and the fresh blood. Have a squad that has depth. Playing week in week out and moving across Malawi rubbing shoulders with the country’s best, footballically requires more than a muscle. It also needs mental stamina. Utilize the current transfer window to recruit employees who will assist you to stay longer in the league.

That aside, the men on the touchline matter a lot as well.  Recruit tacticians who are winners; coaches who will increase both team spirit and winning ways. Have coaches who have objectives in the TNM Super league. Do not hire managers that are clueless; managers who cannot read the match.

  • Make your Players happy; spoil them with sound sponsorship

Players are your employees, as such, they need to enjoy the benefits of working for you. A player cannot give all of their might if they are having no motivation outside the pitch. Finance them properly, let them feel its worth the fight whilst they are on the pitch.  Sound sponsorship is the backbone of positive results on the pitch. Mighty Be Forward Wanderers is a living testimony.

  • Maturity is the name of the game; don’t be crybabies

Do your homework properly. Have a formula. Play your game, and learn to understand that you can win, lose or draw.  Don’t get spoiled by the officiation, and never point your losses at some quarters. Let your exploits speak for themselves.  We don’t walk finger-pointings at any of your losses. After all, all days are not Sundays.

  • Early friendly matches

Have friendly matches with fellow TNM Super league sides. Choose teams that matter. Such matches are a sure way to test the strength of your side. Have as many as you can, and start as early as possible. Remember, it is the early bird that catches the sweetest!

  • Have a clear goal; a mere survival isn’t a challenge enough

Over the years, it has been noted that most new entrants just aim at surviving the league, and not, say, finish in the top eight. Challenge your charges to aim higher. Groom them to be ambitious. A mere super league survival is not enough. Why not cause a scare and finish within the best three?

…………………

Our esteemed newcomers, this is the TNM Super league, where if you lose you snooze and you get kicked out. Welcome aboard!!!!
