Flames’ on and off lethal forwards,  Atusaye Nyondo, and Gabadinho Mhango were both on the score sheets as their sides  Bloemfontein Celtic, and Wits University Fc (respectively)  clashed on Saturday at the former’s backyard in an enticing ABSA premier league encounter.

It was the visitors who unsettled their hosts early in the first half as Thabang Monare connected a brilliant free kick from Elias Pelembe into the back of the Celtic in the 5th minute to silence the Celtics at their own backyard.

The hosts pressed on but could not level the scores. However, their pressure paid dividends in the 27th minute as their new signing, Flames’ on and off talisman, Atusaye Nyondo, who was registering his debut from the University of Pretoria, hit the target to make it one all.

But on the other end, the visitors, via their deadly weapon, Malawi’s own goal scoring machine, Frank Gabadinho Mhango, was a constant threat on to the hosts’ goal mouth. His pace and his crafty footwork was a menace to Celtics’ line of defense.

It was no wonder that come five minutes into the second half, Celtics’ matchmaker, GABA registered his name on to the score sheet as he punished his former club via a volley that hit the left side of the net.

After the goal, the Clever boys, being motivated by their home fans, pressed for an equalizer but no shot could pay the dividends.

Huffed and puffed they did, by no dividend could materialize. And when the ninety minute whistle was blown, GABANINHO Mhango, could not hide his emotions as another Man –of-the-match accolade went onto his direction again.

“Another three points in the bag. Man of the match. I love my team.” Gaba posted on his Facebook page.

In a separate interview with EM  Sports Desk, Gaba attributed his resurgence in performance to his teammates, his coaching panel, and his supporters.

“it’s always great to be recognized but this can never be done without the coach, the teammates, the supporters, and everybody involved in the team. It is always a marvel to clinch some three points,” said the excited GABA.
