Elegant Mzuzu Fashion Week has always delivered surprises throughout its inception a couple of years ago. 2018 appears no different as the current popular comedian, Nya-Uyu real name Felistus Tibalenge Ngwira is set to host the show, it has been learnt.  

The sweet news has been revealed in a press statement the organizers released recently. And in an interview, Nya-Uyu could not hide her excitement.  

“I am excited and honoured to be part of this year’s MZFW. It is a great privilege and all I can say is people should expect nothing but the best from me for I am very ready to give them maximum entertainment, ” said Ngwira.

Ngwira also explained that she is coming to host this year’s event as an entrepreneur as well as a comedian and promised to rock this year’s event with more fun and entertainment.

“I am coming as a host yes;  an entrepreneur and of course a comedian. Nya-Uyu is all about comedy so jokes will also flood on this day. People should expect a great show because I am going to rock this year’s MZFW, ” she said.

Ngwira further explained that she agreed to be part of this year’s event because she traces her roots from the North and Mzuzu precisely therefore she said this is a chance for her to interact with her people.

“I grew up in Mzuzu and it’s against my beliefs not be part of this big event. I trace my roots in Mzuzu hence I see this as an opportunity for me to interact with my people as well as sell out my city Mzuzu, ” she explained.

Nya-Uyu is a full time comedian, an entrepreneur, youth activist as well as a motivational speaker.

She’s famously known because of her Tumbuka-Video comedies and her rise to fame came in 2014.

Apart from Nya-Uyu, this year’s event will also be hosted by Richard Mtukula, a Fashion and style enthusiast who also has a vision of inspiring, motivating and empowering people through various ways, fashion and style inclusive.

2018 MzfW event will start on 1st October to 7th October.
