History in the offing! New entrants, Chitipa United is set for a bloody clash with its neighbours, Karonga United in a highly anticipated historical TNM Super league

Derby on Tuesday.

Historically, the two teams have never been seeing  eye to eye having been rivals since their Simama Northern region premier league days.

The Lions of Chitipa will come into the game looking to arrest their slump in form that has seen them lose their past two league matches to Dwangwa United 1-0 and the weekend dubbing to their fellow rookies Mtopwa fc 1-3.

On the other hand, The Crocodiles of Karonga head into this match with heads high having thumped debutants Mtopwa by 4 goals to 1 in the elite league on Sunday.

Karonga United is also the joint top scorers with 9 goals, same with Nyasa Big Bullets whilst Chitipa is the worst performer with only two strikes hitting the net.

Previewing the match Alex Ngwira, Chitipa United’s tactician has challenged his charges for a strong response when facing their neighbours.

“My players don’t need me to tell them how significant the derby is hence I expect them to perform and put on a show for the fans,” he said.

His counterpart, Dan Dzinkambani, warned his players against underrating a wounded Chitipa side.

“We know that Chitipa is in bad shape but this is a derby where anything can happen so we have to be at our best if we want to grab the bragging rights over our neighbours,” he explained.

With four matches played so far, Karonga United is on the 5th position with 6 points whilst Chitipa United is anchoring the table with just 2 points from the same number of matches.
