AVO KADO’S BOKO HARAM GOES TOO PERSONAL

MUSIC | ENTERTAINMENT
  • Uses Martse’s own confessions to self-inflict pain

Song title: Boko Haram (Martse Diss vol 3)

Artists: Avo Kado

Studio: Terminals Lab Records

Review by: Gibson C KAMANGA

The artwork itself speaks volume of the lyrical content of Boko Haram; probably the most sought after song in recent days.

It is a song that will raise your eye brows wide; wider than they have ever been. Wider because of the lyrical content and the anguish that has been retched throughout the 6 minutes and 16 seconds of nothing but pure animosity. Boko Haram is a 376 seconds of pure ghetto hostility. Above all, it is a song that is going to leave your mouth agape, as the approach used is the first of its kind in the history of the M-Dubz diss paradise.

The graphically-rich and up-to-date counter punches in the lyrics insinuates that this song might have been refined on numerous times; no wonder it failed to be released on its earlier promised date, 30th July 2017.

If you are a vegan, then Boko Haram will be that song to loath. It is purely for carnivores.

Do you remember that Chi Nyimbo song by Phyzix? Yeah, that dancefloor shaker that had the likes of Gwamba, Martse, et al;?  It must have been 3 years ago.

For those with weaker memory banks, in Boko Haram, the narration commences with the very same part that Martse sung in Chi Nyimbo. Boko Haram is one among the continuum of Martse-dissection series by this hoarse voiced lyrical monster, Avo Kado.

ndadziwa changu kuti ndine mfana oblowa

Ndiye pali ana angapo kumafuna kumandibowa

Kumandipatsama ma attitude…..

The narration immediately switches tune as ‘Robert Chiwamba’ (that famous poet) takes on the centre stage, dichotomizing the villain, Martse.

Wadziwa liti kuti ndiwe mfana oblowa?

Zoti ndiwe mfana obowa

Sulingalirapo olo m’pang’ono

Sungalimbanetu ndi Avo Kado

Munthu wamkulu kwambiri

At this point, you will definitely not trust your ears. If you could be like me, you would not be convinced that it is indeed Robert Chiwamba, that Udzafa Imfa Yowawa poet. Of course, deep down you would know for sure that it is indeed him. But for the sake of giving the benefit of doubt, you would replay this part. After numerous replays, rather, thanks to Entertainment Malawi, then you would know that it is actually indeed not Robert Chiwamba as you earlier thought it was. It was just a Robert Chiwamba parody.

Whatever the case, the Chiwamba parody gets interesting as his dismemberment echoes some of the issues Avo Kado had raised in his earlier Martse diss tracks; Zawugalu, and World War 3.

Pa Avokado mpatali ngati kumwamba

Sungamake iyayi

Ndikanyimbo kako kaja

Umati maso ako anayamba mwano

Maso ake ati ife taona maso

M’buku lamboni

….

And if that was not enough, the Chiwamba-wannabe got too personal further as he also attacked Martse over a previous incident as the latter was once man-handled by his peers at his academic institution some time back.

Tikakumbukanso bwinobwino padzana

Atakufwafwaniza pansi

Kukumenyetsa pansi

Chinkhope kukuphwanya

Nkhani yake yomweyi

Yofuna kudya mbuzi ya ulere

Ngati ndiwe wa agriculture

Umationjezatu Martse koma sumadziwa iyayi

According to this poetic persona, Martse’ heavy reliance on weed is driving the artist nuts.

Chambansotu penapake chimakunamiza Martse

And the poet has his final take-home message for the ‘reckless’ Martse.

Iwenso pansi pamtima

Umadziwa kuti pa Avo Kado’tu sungafike

Olo utayesera kupanga izi ndi izi

Uli kutaali

Nde nsazamvenso kuti walimbana ndi Avo Kado

Ulekeretu Martse

It is the verse and the war chants of the beat in the background that reminds one of the battleground that is to befall your ears.

The beat is rather too heavy and the hook is just so simple lyrically, yet so menacing.

Boko boko boko Boko Haram *

In what has become his usual Martse-burial war dances, Avo Kado starts by calling on the Almighty One to forgive him for the brutal massacre he is about to deliver towards his otherwise (in the song) frail opponent.

According to Avo Kado, he owes his Creator an apology for having disobeyed the Almighty (in the earlier disses). According to AvoKado, God had authorized him to completely annihilate Martse but it appeared Avo Kado did not. He had given his opponent some life line. Now, in Boko Haram, Avo Kado is offering no mercy. Martse has to be completely wiped off the face of the earth.

Mulungu wanga

Atate ine ndikugwada

Mogonja ndi mothodwa

Pa imfa zomwe ndapanga

Ndinanyoza mau anu popha uyu Martse

Akaka n’komaliza mwana uyu ndimukanthe

According to this Lethal Assassin, Martse’s career is but over.

Career yako ikutha wekha sukuona?

So wiped out is he going to be that Avo Kado is going to even consume the victim’s blood so as not to leave any faint trace of Martse.

Ndimwa magazi ako iwe zoba mu chidebe

….

Mphamvu yaku mdima

Uyamwidwa hemoglobin

Vampire pansi

Ndigugudiza magazi!!

Verse two carries on the momentum that the previous verse had. It kicks off with a jab towards Martse’s physique, (as has been the case in the previous songs from Avo Kado). According to Avo Kado, Martse’s mind-numbing behavior was The Almighty’s own creation.

Mulungu iwe ankadziwa kale

Ndiwe mfana obowa

N’kuona anakugaira chidazi mmalo mwa dollar

And Avo Kado goes further to discredit some of Martse’s attributes. He first downplays Martse’s earlier punch lines (that were directed to Avo Kado) when he was featured in Bensam Entertainment’s hit, Shut Up, earlier in July.

Shut Up Shut UP ndiineyo?

Bassop!

Degree yako ine ndi JCE yanga

Iwe kapolo

And the climax of Boko Haram unravels in this verse when Avo Kado unleashed some voice notes of Martse who admits to have been wounded by the former’s earlier diss tracks (Zawugalu, and World War 3).

I took the songs

And listened to the songs

I really got hurt,

Zinandibowa kwambiri

According to the Voice Notes, the vomit from Zawugalu, and World War Three were so offensive that they kept on haunting Martse in his everyday life.

Ndikalemba china chili chonse pa Facebook

Even post yoti

Thank God it’s a good day

Pamatha kubwera winawake kuti

Aah iwe choka

Pacha…

Avo Kado akunena chani chani ….

Such has been the extent of damage Avo Kado has inflicted towards his longtime nemesis; using every available resource to silence the enemy.

Third verse starts with Avo Kado who appears to be in an unstoppable drive towards wiping out his enemy, and he appears to be fearless. This is exhibited by his poking fun at some of the crew members of Bensam Entertainment who were in what appeared to be a Chavurah AvoKado Diss track, Shut Up (Bensam Entertainment).

Crew yako kulimbana ndi Al Shabaab

Album yonse kudissa Boko Haram

Ndithothole one-by-one ndi bazooka

….

Ndivunge bomba la atinke nawo

Tianzako tijanso tife nawo

The rest of the verse downplays Martse’s importance on the M-Dubz ladder. To Avo Kado, Martse should never be taken seriously as he contradicts hisself, and not to mention his immature lyrical prowess.

Nkhondo Boko ratata

Martse wachepa

Chonde ambuye

Zoba Martse akufuna pofera

Siungayankhe diss yanga chonsecho ukuyankha?

Beef yanga ndi chitedze

Ukumva kuyabwa

Umangobwereza verse….

As he leaves the centre stage, the war monger, Avo Kado has the last words for Martse,

Watch out for part four!

……………

Such has been the depth of hate unleashed in Boko Haram. Already, it appears the situation is now getting out of hand as it is becoming more than a mere booth play; it is impacting on their real lives outside music.

The first casualty, minus the duo, is Reggae artist-cum-fashion designer, Roy View, a friend to both who has confessed to have indirectly (and unknowingly) played a part in the escalated beef.

His Facebook post on Friday the 4th of August 2017 is a clear testimony he is not at peace.

“#Martse and #AvoKado are my close friends, somewhere somehow ….

{PUT A SCREEN SHOT OF THAT ROY VIEW FB POST}

Such is the gravity of the beef between the duo. As it is, nobody is pretty sure of what is to come next.  Malawi is watching.
