  • Reggae Empress, QUEEN FAYAH releases reggae smasher, GRATITUDE

Uncrowned reggae queen, Queen Fayah is kicking off 2 019 with a pure roots banger, Gratitude on the 5th of March this year. The song promises to be another hit to watch this year as it has nothing but pure reggae sounds that will easily remind the listener that pure reggae music is not yet dead.

  • Hilco coaxes Dan Lu in Usanapite

Silky voice Hilco is in the booth finalizing a track Usanapite, a collabo with To be A man hit maker, Dan-Lu. Reports reaching EM indicate that two machine guns in music production locally, Tricky Beatz, and Sispence are the magic hands fine-tuning this banger.  

  • Three days of madness in the green city

Martyr’s holiday weekend appears to be a beehive of activity in the green city as some of the country’s celebrated urban music artists will be in the thick of things mesmerizing the fun-hungry Mzuzunians there.

Having tasted the dosage of Tay Grin at the popular Queens Club on Friday night, Saturday will be another music fiesta at the same venue is hosting Lulu and Lusubiro Band in a MISA – Malawi fundraising show. Same night but a couple of Kilometers away, Afro-pop icon Dan Lu will be at Mzuzu University’s Club 31.

And if you think you might have had enough of the melodies, then you’re gonna be in for a ride as University of Livingstonia’s Ekwendeni campus Hall is to host Wikise 1992, Tsar Leo and Mzuzu’s own cream, Wakisa James.

  • Event organizer run for cover amid hoodwinking artists

Pandemonium rocked Skyway ‘University’ during the institution’s sosho weekend as main headliners, Jah Face, one third of reggae-dancehall outfit, Blackface Family, and Wakisa James almost manhandled, rather manhandled (depending on your view point) event organizers after the latter were allegedly attempting to hoodwink the artists. It’s reported that Jahface lot his cool and let his hands do the talking unto the unsuspecting ‘stealer’ and their (latter’s) cashier. By the end of it all, the event organizer claimed he lost his mobile phone handset. What a shame!

  • Don Gogo back with “A Minute of Silence” Mixtape

Rebranded award winning dancehall star, Don Gogo, formerly Maddy P has announced his return to active music with a release of A Minute of Silence. According to the star, the mix tape is a reflection of real life experiences. It’s going to be released month end of March 2019. The mix tape has seen Zephy, and DJ Ken-Lo leading the pack of producers who have craftily assembled A Minute of Silence.
