Ambo Aj Links Up with USA-Based King Tuzi for ‘All Roads Lead Down the Isle’

By Mpho Musowa

Black Leaf Music artist Ambokire Salimu Jnr, popularly known as Ambo Aj, has reunited with former group member King Tuzi for their upcoming EP, All Roads Lead Down the Isle. The highly anticipated project, set for release on March 29, has been in development since July last year.

According to Ambo Aj, the EP was completed in the second half of 2023, with the duo strategically waiting for the right moment to drop it. “The concept behind the title is that no matter what we or anyone else tries, you cannot fight fate. We believe our journey in music is destined, and no matter what path we take—be it school or anything else—we always end up at the same place. It’s God’s will,” he explained in an interview.

The EP features seven tracks, all produced by Ambo Aj. The project marks a significant collaboration between the two artists despite King Tuzi’s departure from Black Leaf Music (BLM) to pursue a solo career. Aj, however, remains confident about the label’s future. “We’re still moving forward. The label is still around, and we’re still doing our thing despite the breakup,” he affirmed.

When asked about ownership rights for the EP, Aj clarified that it is a joint project. “The rights are split. Half of it is owned by Black Leaf because I’m part of it, and everything I do falls under the label. Tuzi, on the other hand, is an independent artist.”

King Tuzi, who was formerly a member of the BLM crew, is currently studying Physics at the University of Central Arkansas in the United States. Reflecting on the creative process from abroad, he admitted that working remotely has been a challenge. “I send all my music to either AJ or Big Phil to mix via email. It’s been a grind, balancing music and trying to earn a living as a young man should.”

Addressing the split from BLM publicly for the first time, Tuzi maintained that there was no bad blood between him and his former label. “Black Leaf, to me, is all love. We clashed once, and unfortunately, it led to our separation, but AJ has been my brother since primary school, so nothing has changed. If anything, we’ve become even stronger as a duo.”

The artists confirmed that the EP will be available for free. However, Tuzi is working on making it accessible across all major streaming platforms to maximize its global reach.

With their undeniable chemistry and mutual respect, All Roads Lead Down the Isle promises to be a powerful musical statement from Ambo Aj and King Tuzi—one that reinforces their belief that fate, indeed, always leads them back to their passion for music.
